1 dead, multiple people injured in 3-vehicle crash

On March 16, a Washington man was killed in a crash that involved three vehicles, including an ambulance that was transporting a patient to a medical facility. The accident occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m. at the intersection of James Street and Boren Avenue in Issaquah.

According to the Issaquah Police Department, the driver of an Acura sedan was traveling west on James Street when the vehicle collided with a Toyota Prius that was traveling in the southbound lanes of Boren Avenue.

The resulting impact caused the two vehicles to collide with an ambulance that was slowing down as it reached the intersection. The driver of the Prius, who was identified as a 60-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

All five of the individuals who were in the ambulance suffered injuries, but the severity of those injuries was not known. A second ambulance was dispatched to take the patient to the health center. The driver of the Acura appeared to be impaired. He was taken into custody by the authorities and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Fatal motor vehicle accidents can have a major financial impact on the family members who lose a loved one in a crash in addition to the shock and other emotions.

When it can be demonstrated that the accident was caused by the negligence of another driver, such as one who was speeding or impaired at the time of the collision, a personal injury attorney may suggest the filing of a wrongful death lawsuit seeking compensation for the losses that the survivors have sustained.
