3 reasons why new attorneys should consider the Incubator Program
On Behalf Of Dean Standish Perkins & Associates
Mar 11, 2022

All alumni of Seattle University School of Law have probably heard of the Incubator Program at some point in their law school journey. If you have been on the fence about participating in the program, it could be helpful to consider some of the advantages that come with enrollment in the program that can help you to navigate the stressful process of starting your new law practice.

Access to experienced mentors

Stan Perkins, the Program Director, gives personalized advice and mentorship to each participant in the Incubator Program. There is also a network of other attorneys experienced in various fields of the law that serve as mentors to Seattle University alumni that want to start their own law practice.

By counseling with them, you can avoid some of the costly mistakes that you otherwise might make, and can gain insight into what it takes to make a new law practice successful.

Access to business management resources

In addition to business coaching, enrollment in the Program gives you access to practice management software. Not only can you save a considerable amount of money by not having to purchase similar software elsewhere, but you will also be able to receive coaching on how to use the software in the most efficient manner possible for your business.

A chance to serve those in need

Part of the commitment you will make by enrolling in the Incubator Program is to use your newly acquired legal skills to serve your community. Participants in the Program agree that their new law practice will offer the option of reduced-fee services to members of the community that need it the most, in order to extend access to legal services to those for whom they otherwise may be prohibitive.

The prospect of starting a law practice for new law school graduates is a monumental endeavor. With the guidance of those who have done it before you, the task becomes much more doable, and you can stand a much better chance of being successful in your chosen profession.
