Motorcyclist killed in collision with SUV in Shoreline

Now that spring has arrived to the Issaquah area, many people are enjoying getting on our roads in other vehicles besides their cars. Bikes, convertibles, and motorcycles have all made a reappearance. Most of the time everyone is able to safely share the road but occasionally a serious accident involving motorcycles or other smaller mode of transportation occurs.

serious accident recently occurred in Shoreline. An SUV was attempting to make a left turn at the entrance to Aurora Village when it hit a motorcycle that was coming from the other direction. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist died at the scene. Authorities are still investigating the accident but wanted to remind motorists that with warmer weather there are more motorcyclists on the road.

Motorcyclists face different obstacles on Issaquah roads than cars. Motorcyclists who are involved in an accident are significantly more likely to be seriously injured than those who are in cars. Motorcycles do not offer nearly as much protection from an accident. If a family has been affected by a motorcycle accident, they may want to speak with an attorney who specializes in personal injury. An attorney can visit the accident scene and interview witnesses, review police reports, and consult with experts in motorcycle accidents to help determine what happened. Compensation may be available for medical expenses, funeral expenses, pain and suffering and other damages.

Motorcycles are usually able to safely share the road with passenger vehicles, but serious accidents still occur. Drivers do not always watch for motorcyclists and in a split second a serious accident can occur. Those who are affected by a motorcycle accident do have legal rights.
